JOB DESCRIPTION- Mortgage Underwriter I, will include performing a variety of loan documentation duties on complex loan packages, using comprehensive knowledge of policies and procedures for loan products.
POSITION TYPE: Hourly position
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Experienced in Mortgage Underwriting
• Proficient in calculating all types of income.
• Detailed oriented and analytical skills a plus.
• Respond effectively to customers (internal and external) and actively participate in discussions to help the department run more efficiently.
• Review, analyze and make final determination on loan documentation; main function of job.
• Work with team members to identify potential suggested solutions/exceptions for denied loan files.
• Remain up to date for program and investor guidelines.
• Complete tasks as delegated by Relationship Management/Division Management.
• Additional Duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• High School Diploma or equivalent minimum; real estate/mortgage banking courses helpful.
• Minimum 1 years underwriting experience conforming and non-conforming
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to handle frequent changes.
• Creative/innovative problem solver.
• PC skills required. Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel.
• Confidentiality required in handling of security.
